Attorney Comments: Attorney Jian Joe Zhou filed an EB-2 NIW and I-485 for the client in late March 2013 and both cases were approved the same day in early June 2013. The client was from a country without visa retrogression in EB-2.  After initially reviewing the case, Attorney Joe quickly identified that the client’s background in environmental protection (vehicle emission control technology and polices) and knew that it would be the right approach to argue his case under the National Interest Waiver. The client’s research was considered innovative as his reports were used by several foreign governments. It is understood that vehicle emission is a worldwide concern and therefore the improvement of air quality in other countries will also benefit the air quality in the United States. Evidently, the USCIS officer was convinced by Attorney Joe’s arguments and quickly approved the filed NIW and I-485 concurrently within 10 weeks.  The client received their green card the same day when I-485 noticed arrived at attorney’s office.
