New NIW Successful Stories (26) Dr. Monsoor Electronic materials and their ultrasonic applications are an exciting and fast-growing field, and Dr. Monsoor of India has helped ensure its advancement through his inventions, research and dedication. After completing his B.S. and M.S. degrees in condensed matter physics in his home country, Dr. Monsoor immigrated to the U.S. to further his work on finite element modeling to analyze the resonant behavior of partial composites, bold and innovative research that merited publication in the Journal of Materials Science and the Journal of Physics, to name two prestigious periodicals. Although his list of publications and citations are evidence of Dr. Monsoor’s talent, he needed an experienced legal team to complement his skill and help him with his NIW petition – he needed Z&A. The immigration officials, after all, review thousands of applications, and only the most promising and convincing cases are selected for approval. Our superb lawyers highlighted the prominence of Dr. Monsoor’s awards and patents, such as one for a high-powered ultrasonic cleaning system. Because of Z&A’s strong argument on behalf of Dr. Monsoor, his application was approved June 25, 2005. Dr. Lao Our attorneys, combinations of both compassion and competence, understand the trials and tribulations inherent in any legal matter, especially cases like the NIW petition. Often, there can seem to be no guarantee of success, even with stellar résumés like Dr. Lao’s. He had over 60 citations, 30 publications, prestigious awards and research positions – but no capable legal aid to skillfully guide him through the NIW process. Once Dr. Lao retained Z&A, however, his situation improved rapidly. Not only were we able to document all of his achievements in the best possible way, but our attorneys garnered 7 letters of support from independent advisory sources in his field throughout the country. Dr. Lao, who holds a Ph.D in biological therapy for cancer, an M.S. in medical biochemistry and molecular biology, and a medical degree, all from various top-notch Chinese schools, has dedicated his life to the study and therapy of brain cancer, especially tumor-associated carcinoembryonic antigens. To ensure that the immigration official fully understood the implications of this research for the national interest, we carefully laid out the facts in layman’s terms. In the end, we proved successful in our partnership with Dr. Lao, for his NIW petition was approved on June 27, 2005, slightly more than 1 month after we submitted it on May 23, 2005. Dr. Lee Inventor of a high-speed fixation and staining method for biopsy diagnosis that takes 1/25 of the traditional time and a true pioneer in immuno-labeling techniques used in the study of leukemia bone marrow stromal cells, Dr. Lee retained Z&A for help with her NIW petition in late 2004. Our award-winning firm immediately began to package her information in the most effective way possible, highlighting her outstanding academic record at one of China’s top medical schools, her lengthy list of publications in such journals as Quarterly Life Science Sigma, Archives of Neurology, and the Journal of Hematology, and the earthshaking possibilities her work and research could have on the current endeavors concerning HIV-AIDS, anthrax, and SARS. Our completely convincing persuasion influenced the USCIS officials and swayed them into approving Dr. Lee’s application on April 22, 2005, only 4 months after we submitted the application. Dr. Han At a premier university in America’s Midwest where she is a candidate for her Ph.D in biochemistry and molecular biology, Dr. Han has diligently researched the deepest mysteries of the hepatitis C virus (HCV), sedulously applying the knowledge gained with her M.S. in biochemistry and her M.D. degrees earned in China. Dr. Han’s main aims are to study the interaction of key proteins involved in HCV replication, especially the helicase NS3, which is responsible for unwinding the nucleic acid substrate. Dr. Han needed a full-service law firm that could match her diligence and dedication for help with her NIW petition, which led her to Z&A. Our entire team focused on overcoming her particular obstacles, which included having only 5 letters of recommendation and 4 publications. Because this information would be unlikely to help her application, we highlighted the implications for the national interest inherent in her past and current work, especially for the 170 million people worldwide who suffer from HCV-related health problems. Because of our effective strategy, Dr. Han’s NIW approval arrived on April 28, 2005, less than two months after we submitted the application on March 15, 2005. Dr. Moon When Dr. Moon confronted the challenge of an NIW petition, he decided to retain Z&A for qualified legal aid. After all, not only was his status at stake, but also the millions of lives that would be affected should his petition be denied. His work, which has won the Graduate Scholarship Award from the Institute of Food Technologists three times, focuses on creating techniques to remove cellular membrane phospholipids from isolated proteins, increasing the lipid oxidation stability and precluding the production of many carcinogenic compounds. Z&A helped focus his NIW petition letter on his outstanding education, including a Ph.D from an American university on the East Coast in food science, B.S. in food science and engineering and an M.S. from a top university in China in marine medicinal chemistry. The import of his work to the fishing industry in particular, and by extension to the millions of people worldwide who depend on the ocean for food, made the national interest requirement for NIWs easy to fulfill in his case. With Z&A’s superior aid, Dr. Moon’s application was submitted on March 17, 2005, and approved an amazing 5 weeks later, on April 24, 2005. Dr. Nimzovich 2005 will always be remembered as a year of hurricanes along the US Gulf Coast, with all of the accompanying devastation and destruction. Dr. Nimzovich’s research, begun with his Ph.D program in civil engineering at an elite school in the same region, is crucial to the prevention of such enormous losses in the future as he focuses on hazard reduction, wind engineering of bridge structures and safety assessments of bridges, highways and other roadways. His B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from a highly-regarded school in Eastern Europe have helped enable him to conduct such important work. So vital to the national interest is Dr. Nimzovich’s work that he has been granted multiple monetary awards by the National Science Foundation, evidence in part of his excellent decision-making skills. One such decision was retaining Z&A for experienced and competent help in completing his NIW petition. We assembled his over 30 publications and scholarly notes together with his letters of support into a powerful package designed to win the approval of the USCIS officials. These sound legal stratagems succeeded and left Dr. Nimzovich very satisfied, for his NIW application was submitted on November 15, 2004, and approved shortly thereafter. Dr. Sung Well-known and highly respected in his field, Dr. Sung’s incredible and impressive work has been cited over 130 times by his colleagues. His Ph.D in materials science and engineering, earned at one of the best research schools in the US Midwest, works in combination with his B.S. and M.S. degrees in engineering from one of China’s premier institutions to enable Dr. Sung to perform his cutting-edge work on nanotechnology in thin films and crystal growth, crucial to the semiconductor industry and thus to the entire economy. Currently a postdoctoral researcher at one of the top universities on the Mid-Atlantic, Dr. Sung needed help for his NIW petition. When choosing which law firm to retain for this NIW petition, he discovered that no one enjoys the stellar reputation and success rate that Z&A does. After he chose us, our caring and skilled legal team undertook the huge task of properly documenting and presenting all of Dr. Sung’s work in the most effective manner possible. Buttressed with appropriate letters of support, including 5 independent advisory opinions, our lawyers submitted Dr. Sung’s application certain of success. This confidence was substantiated on May 15, 2005, when we received notice that Dr. Sung’s NIW petition was approved. Dr. Feng Researchers from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Italy, Japan and the Netherlands have called upon Dr. Feng to offer his professional advice and opinions via 45 citations, and the worldwide attention is certainly merited by the quality of his work. Dr. Feng obtained his Ph.D in biochemistry from one of the best medical schools in China. His work concerned cloning and function characterization of the genes for anticoagulants and neurotoxins from snake venom. Applications for his research range from cystic fibrosis to Alzheimer’s disease, making the success of his NIW petition a matter of great importance to the national interest. Dr. Feng retained Z&A to help file his NIW petition. Our experienced legal team noted that his citations and publications were both numerous and influential, a rare combination that his 6 independent advisory opinions were quick to emphasize. When we discussed the national interest implications of Dr. Feng’s work, we stressed that efforts to combat crippling problems like cystic fibrosis would suffer immeasurable harm if Dr. Feng’s NIW was denied. Soon after we submitted Dr. Feng’s petition on March 23, 2005, we received notice that our efforts had succeeded. (06/27/2006) For more immigration news, please click here |
