Dr. Lin
Dr. Lin obtained his Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from a Chinese research institute. His primary research focused on Magnetism and Nanotechnology. Currently, he is conducting postdoctoral research at a research institution in US.
Dr. Lin retained Zhang & Associates, P.C. for his NIW petition. Our legal team carefully organized his petition materials. Our attorneys noticed that he had many peer-reviewed articles. We also demonstrated the significance of his research work by arguing that nanotechnology represents the future of scientific research on materials and its success would ensure the national competitive advantage in highly advanced technologies.
During the consultation, Dr. Lin informed us that he would get many letters of support.
In order to increase his success chance, our experienced attorney helped him select 8 letters, 5 of which were written as independent advisory opinions. By this way of selection, we believed that the immigration officer would be easily convinced that Dr. Lin had a significant impact or influence on his field.
Mr. Lin was satisfied with our premium legal service because his petition was approved very quickly. We submitted his petition last November and he received the approval the following month.
Dr. Zheng
Dr. Zheng was a biomedical researcher with an emphasis on retinal degeneration. He had the excellent academic record. But unfortunately he received Request for Evidence (RFE) last June.
Dr. Zheng came to our firm for further professional assistance. Our experienced attorneys carefully examined the reasons for RFE in the letter and design a successful strategy. In the RFE letter, the immigration officer determined that Dr. Zheng fell short of demonstrating that he had a record of achievement making him so uniquely qualified as to forego the labor certification process. The officer even argued that some of the letters of support written by individuals who, if they were in his position, would come much closer to meeting the criteria required for a NIW.
Our experienced attorney sensed the sarcastic tone in the RFE letter and we designed an effective counterattack. First, we stressed Dr. Zeng’s significant research work. We reiterated Dr. Zheng’s research focus on gene cloning and synthesis of its recombinant protein, which led to a great discovery of a new signaling pass-way regulation within cells and would have significant application in cancer therapy.
Second, we submitted more letters written by experts in his field who have not worked with him. Those experts regarded his work as some of the most significant work in his field. We also directly cited words of high regards from those leading researchers, referring to Dr. Zheng’s work as “outstanding”, “unique”, “extraordinary”, “significant”, and etc.
Finally, we raised some arguments to address the officer’s sarcastic comparison between Dr. Zheng and his references. We cited an AAO precedent decision in which the petition only had evidence by testimonials by just three independent experts and no awards or evidence of outside influence. By comparison, we argued that with testimonials from more independent experts, Dr. Zheng's proof of past accomplishments was even greater than that successful petitioner in the AAO decision. We further argued that all these distinguished scientists as Dr. Zheng’s references, despite having much more experience in his field, regard Dr. Xi as one of the most accomplished and able scientists in their field.
Our impressive documentation and argument finally convinced the immigration officer. We submitted the response to RFE last August and Dr. Zheng’s petition was approved last November.
Dr. Ma
Dr. Ma obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from a US research university. Later, he worked for another US university as a postdoctoral researcher. His fields include organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry.
Dr. Ma retained Zhang & Associates, P.C. for his NIW petition. In preparation for his case, our attorneys found that he had an incredible publication record. He has many publications in leading scientific journals and his papers have been cited in different articles by independent scientists.
Despite the fact that he would only obtain 5 letters of support, our experienced attorneys successfully divert the immigration officer’s attention to his significant impact and his contributions in his research field. We stressed that his research project was funded by National Institution of Health. We also cited glowing praises from a leading scientist who worked together with Dr. Ma, “[without him] the rapid progress that we have made in the last year would rapidly slow to a crawl.”
We submitted Dr. Ma’s NIW petition on last September and his petition was approved in early November.
Dr. Dong
Dr. Dong obtained his bachelor’s in medicine from a top medical school in China. Then he became an acupuncture doctor/researcher. Before he came to U.S. to conduct his research, he had been engaged in research on acupuncture for many years, integrating Chinese and Western medicines.
Dr. Dong has a very unique case for NIW because he did not have any advanced degree in his research field. In addition, he had numerous publications, including paper presentations at professional meetings. Upon examination of his research record, we noticed that Dr. Dong received international acclaims as being outstanding in his field and made a lot of breakthrough discoveries in his field. The only problem left was that how to present the relevant documentation in a way that an immigration officer, unfamiliar with the traditional Chinese medicine, would appreciate the significant influence of Dr. Dong’s research work and potential contribution to the national interest.
Our experienced attorneys made great efforts to design a tailored petition package for Dr. Dong. We demonstrated to the officer that his research combined the modern science of pathology, physiology, anatomy and traditional acupuncture and his highly multidisciplinary research significantly improve treatment of Parkinson's disease, neck pain, sciatica and lumbago. Also we submitted 9 letters of support, reflecting Dr. Dong’s various applications of his research and contributions in various disciplines.
Our successfully strategy paid off handsomely. We submitted Dr. Dong’s petition last May and his petition was approved within 2 months.
Ms. Zou
Ms. Zou obtained her MS in Ecology from a research university in China. Then she came to US continue her advanced research an epidemiologic analysis at a medical center.
Ms. Zou has a very unique case for NIW because she did not have very strong publications. Our experienced attorneys made great efforts to analyze her unique situation and designed well-balanced petition package. While Ms. Zou did not have a lot of publications, we stressed that her articles were published in the top journals in her field. Although she could not obtain more than 5 letters of support, we managed to submit to the officer strong recommendations from leading researchers.
Our successful strategy paid off handsomely. We submitted Ms. Zou’s petition last August and her petition was approved by the end of same year.
Dr. Hua
Dr. Hua obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from a research university in China. Then he came to U.S. to conduct cancer research at a research institution.
Dr. Hua retained Zhang & Associates, P.C. for his NIW petition. Our excellent legal team carefully organized his petition package. In his petition, our attorneys showed to the immigration officer that Dr. Hua had published many articles in top scholarly journals. In explaining Dr. Hua’s research and achievements, we brought to immigration officer’s attention how inadequate knowledge has been obtained for cancer's underlying mechanism so far. We suggested that Dr. Hua’s research had a great potential to block and hence eliminate cancer cell metastasis. To highlight his achievements and international recognition, we submitted 7 letters of support, to substantiate his contributions to cancer research and his influence in his field.
After our premium legal assistance, Dr. Hua’s petition was approved last November.
Dr. Teng
Dr. Teng received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from a institution in China. Before he came to U.S., he had already made original and significant achievements in the study of hearing impairment. Around 2000, he came to U.S. to perform his advanced research with an emphasis on dermatology, molecular biology and cellular biology.
He retained Zhang & Associates, P.C. for his NIW petition. Our experienced attorneys noticed that most of his publications were written in Neuroscience when he was a researcher in China. During his postdoctoral research, he only published 3 papers in the field of dermatology. Also, he only had 5 letters of support from experts in his field.
To compensate his relative weakness in his NIW petition, we design a unique package for him. We stressed that Dr. Teng’s current research focused on diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases, including skin cancer. We emphasized that with a short period of time, Dr. Teng’s research in dermatology led to groundbreaking results and his research helped understand the pathogenesis of many skin diseases; most notably, skin tumor progress. Although he only had 3 articles published in American journals, we emphasized that these journals were internationally-circulated major journals, such as Molecular and Cellular Biology. Due to our ingenious presentation, Dr. Teng would be seen as a very exceptional and outstanding researcher who had achieved unparalleled accomplishments in his field.
Dr. Teng’s NIW petition was submitted last July and was approved last December.
Mr. Lu
Mr. Lu was still a Ph.D. candidate when he retained Zhang & Associates, P.C. for his NIW petition.
Our excellent legal team carefully organized his petition package. In his petition, our attorneys showed to the immigration officer that Mr. Liu had published numerous articles in top scholarly journals. In explaining Mr. Lu’s research and achievements, we brought to immigration officer’s attention how inadequate knowledge has been obtained for cancer's underlying mechanism so far.
We suggested that Mr. Lu’s work would impact the field of system biology and the fight against cancer and other diseases in our country. To highlight his achievements, we submitted 5 strong letters of support, to substantiate his contributions to cancer research and his influence in his field.
After our premium legal assistance, Mr. Lu’s petition was approved last November.
Dr. Robbins
Dr. Robbins obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering. His current research focuses on high performance polymer composites with light weight, high use temperature, high corrosive resistance, high hydrolytically stability and excellent mechanical properties.
He retained Zhang & Associates, P.C. for his NIW petition. Our attorneys carefully evaluated his academic achievements. We found that Dr. Robbins’s record had his weaknesses and strengths. He only had a few publications, but he presented papers at many major scientific conferences and received awards from his presentations; He only had 5 letters of support, but 3 out of 5 were from scientists who have not worked with Dr. Robbins and do not know Dr. Robbins personally but rather through his publications and presentations at scientific conferences, as well as letters from scientists from U.S. army and NASA.
Furthermore, we emphasized his significant research in terms of application. We explained to the officer that the material invented by him could perform exceptionally in hostile and extreme environments, and would be widely applied in our modern life, space, and military industry. We also stressed that Dr. Robbins was key player on five government research programs funded by the military, NASA, and the state and he has one granted patent and 5 pending. Moreover, his patented invention is now being commercialized by a corporation on solar energy conversion.
Due to our diligent service delivery, Dr. Robbins’ petition process went smoothly. We submitted Dr. Robbins’ petition last September and less than 2 months, his petition was approved.
Dr. Stevenson
Dr. Stevenson received her M.S. in Medicine from a prestigious institution in her home country. Before she went to U.S., she had conducted extensive research on Asthma. Now she is performing advanced research, investigating how proteins called sarcoglycans are assembled into a completed and targeted to muscle membrane.
Dr. Stevenson retained Zhang & Associates, P.C. for her NIW petition. Our elite legal team emphasized to the immigration officer how significant her research field could impact the immunobiology community. We stated in the petition that Dr. Stevenson made various groundbreaking discoveries which were documented in preeminent journals. Currently, her research focuses on the development of a gene-based vaccine to prevent allergic disease.
We not only emphasized that Dr. Stevenson had published many professional papers in national and international level journals, but also stressed that she had been invited as a special speaker at international conferences, showing the high standing he had earned as an exceptional scientist.
With our convincing arguments and well-organized documentation, Dr. Stevenson’s petition was by the end of last year.
Dr. Liu
Dr. Liu obtained in Ph.D. in nuclear engineering. Now, he is working for a national laboratory to continue his nuclear reactor design research.
Dr. Liu retained Zhang & Associates, P.C. for his NIW petition. Our legal team designed a petition package tailored to his own academic backgrounds and achievements. In our petition, we emphasized that Dr. Liu was the first to design, develop, and invent a certain compact neutron generator that provides a source of neutrons at an intensity that cannot be obtained by any other means at this time.
We selectively submitted 7 strong recommendation letters for Dr Liu’s petition. By this selection of recommendation letters, we successfully demonstrated to the immigration officer that how widely recognized and applied Dr. Liu’s research work was to the national interest in the nuclear energy industry.
We helped Dr. Liu submit his NIW petition last June and he received the approval by the end of the year.
Dr. Kevin
Kevin is a leading Russian researcher in molecular genetics and biotechnology research. He has the impeccable academic record. Unfortunately, he received the Request for Evidence (RFE) for his NIW petition last June. He came to seek our professional assistance.
Our experienced attorneys carefully examined RFE letter in which the immigration officer argued that Kevin’s petition failed to demonstrate that he was “uniquely qualified as to forego the labor certification process…” and many of the letters written on his behalf only described his work as "theoretical", "promising," or "innovative”.
According our experience, we believed that the officer was just nit picking and fishing for more evidence. As a result, we prepared for a response that even most critical officer could not help but get convinced that the national interest would be adversely affected should a labor certification be required.
We only submitted one more independent advisory opinion, whose author discussed in greater detail as to Kevin’s contribution to and impact on his field. We also submitted more latest published peer-reviewed articles by him to prove that his research was continuously productive. We also emphasized the editorial attention in the journal of plant physiology drawn to his recent research. Finally, we stressed that Kevin’s research had been cited in excess of 100 peer-reviewed publications, which amounted to an undisputable testament to his impact on his field.
Our impressive presentation and documentation finally convinced the immigration officer. We submitted the response to RFE last August and Kevin’s petition was approved in November.
