July 2019 Visa Bulletin: Several EB Categories Progress Again

The U.S. Department of State (DOS) has published the latest visa bulletin for July 2019.  Notably, cut-off dates for several employment-based visa categories progresses again in July.
                                                                                 
Final action dates for employment-based preference petitions are as follows:

  • The EB-1 category is still no longer current for any foreign national. For mainland-Chinese petitioners, the cut-off date has advanced from February 22, 2017 to May 8, 2017.For Indian petitioners, the cut-off date remains on January 1, 2015. For petitioners from all other countries and regions, the cut-off dates remain on April 22, 2018
  • In the EB-2 category, which is current worldwide except China-Mainland and India, the cut-off date for nationals born in mainland China has advanced from August 1, 2016 to November 1, 2016. The cut-off date for Indian nationals has advanced from April 19, 2009 to April 24, 2009.
  • In the EB-3 category, which is current worldwide except China-Mainland and India, the cut-off date for China-mainland has advanced from September 15, 2015 to January 1, 2016. The cut-off date for Indian nationals remains on July 1, 2009.
  • In the EB-5 category, the cut-off date for nationals from mainland China remain on October 1, 2014. EB-5 visa numbers are available to all nationals, aside from applicants from mainland China, Vietnam (cut-off date remains on October 1, 2016) and India (cut-off date is May 1, 2017). 

Filing dates for employment-based preference petitions are as follows:

  • In the EB-2 category, the cut-off date for nationals born in mainland China has advanced from November 1, 2016 to February 1, 2017. The cut-off date for Indian nationals remains on June 1, 2009.
  • In the EB-3 category, the cut-off date for China-mainland has advanced from January 1, 2016 to June 1, 2016. The cut-off date for Indian nationals remains on April 1, 2010.
  • In the EB-5 category, the cut-off date for nationals born in mainland China remains on November 1, 2014
