April 2017 Visa Bulletin: Few Changes Since March

The U.S. State Department has released the visa bulletin for April 2017, and there is little movement in the dates.

According to final action dates for employment-based preference cases:

  • The EB-1 category is current for all nationals.
  • In the EB-2 category, the cut-off date for nationals born in mainland China has moved up from December 15, 2012, last month to January 15, 2013, while the cut-off date for Indian nationals has moved up from June 1, 2008, last month to June 22, 2008. EB-2 visa numbers are available to all other nationals.
  • In the EB-3 category, the cut-off date for nationals born in mainland China has moved up from March 15, 2014, last month to August 15, 2014, while the cut-off date for Indian nationals has moved up from March 22, 2005, last month to March 24, 2005.
  • In the EB-5 category, the cut-off date for nationals born in mainland China has moved up from May 1, 2014, last month to May 22, 2014. EB-5 visa numbers are available to all other nationals.

Regarding filing dates for employment-based visa applications:

  • The EB-1 category is current for all nationals.
  • In the EB-2 category, the cut-off dates for China-mainland and Indian nationals remain unchanged at March 1, 2013, and April 22, 2009, respectively.
  • In the EB-3 category, the cut-off dates for China-mainland and Indian nationals remain unchanged at May 1, 2014, and July 1, 2005, respectively.
  • In the EB-5 category, the cut-off date for nationals born in mainland China is unchanged since last month at June 15, 2014.
