The Department of Labor Office of Foreign Labor Certification recently released new statistics regarding the H-1B Temporary Specialty Occupations Labor Condition Program for the first quarter of the 2014 Fiscal Year.

According to the newly released data, the Department of Labor have so far received a total of 67,645 applications for the H-1B labor condition applications in the first quarter of 2014. DOL has issued 79,304 determinations in 2014 and with 69,334 certified, 1,858 denied, and 8,112 withdrawn. According to DOL, 100% of the applications were “processed timely”.

The top 10 occupations for certified H-1B labor condition applications in the first quarter of FY 2014 include: Computer Systems Analysts (33%), Software Developers (12%), Computer Programmers (11%), Comp Occupations (9%), Software Developers (4%), Accountants and Auditors (4%), Management Analysts (2%), Comp & Info System Managers (2%), Electronic Engineers (2%), Net and Computer System Admin (2%) and the Remaining Occupations make up 19%.
The top ten states with the highest certified H-1b labor condition applications in the first quarter of FY 2014 include: California (20%), New York (9%), Texas (8%), New Jersey (7%), Illinois (5%), Massachusetts (4%), Pennsylvania (4%), Florida (4%), Washington (4%), and Georgia (3%). The remaining 40 states make up 32%.

The Department of Labor Office of Foreign Labor Certification also released the Top 10 Employers of certified H-1B labor condition applications in the first quarter of FY 2014 including: 1) Cognizant Technology Solutions U.S Corporations (22,599), 2) Wipro Limited (10,021), 3) Cisco Systems Inc. (4,256), 4) Deloitte & Touche LLP (4,161), 5) Price Waterhouse Coopers LLP (4,136), 6) Infosys Limited (3,409), 7) Mphasis Corporation(2,980), 8) iGate Technologies Inc. (2,635), 9) IBM India Private Limited (2,228), 10) Mindtree Limited (1,901).
