On 12/19/2013, in observance of the end of 2013, Zhang & Associates, P.C. held its annual meeting in a rarely-seen sunny day in Seattle. Seventeen attorneys and 6 other colleagues attended the meeting, including two of our of-counsel attorneys from Seoul, Korea and two colleagues from Beijing, China.

Management summarized the firm’s performance for the year 2013. The firm has maintained its growth steadily, recruited several new talents and established its 7th US branch office in Seattle (Mercer Island), Washington.  Most remarkably, the firm recruited Attorney Kristin Whitaker, who formerly worked as an Administrative Appeals Officer of USCIS for years, dealing with various appeals cases.

At the meeting Whitaker, as our senior attorney and training manager, provided extensive and highly professional trainings, solved hot topics brought up by our colleagues, provided valued practice experience and helped us better understand the operations of USCIS. Several other attorneys presented trainings and shared their experiences regarding communications with clients, case filing tips, quality control, firm policies and management issues. The meeting also announced the appointment of our new partner, Attorney Bennett Wisniewski, who has been with the firm for almost 7 years.

Meetings lasted from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Colleagues from the firm’s branch offices exchanged their opinions and shared their experiences with each other.  After the meeting, attendees had a warm Christmas dinner party at a local restaurant.

During the weekend retreat colleagues also took city tours and ski tours to explore and enjoy the beauty and fun of the Emerald City. The meeting turned out to be a success, and we are looking forward to the opportunities and challenges next year will bring.
