The Department of Labor Office of Foreign Labor Certification recently released new statistics regarding the H-1B Temporary Specialty Occupations Labor Condition Program for the fourth quarter of the 2013 Fiscal Year.

According to the newly released data, the Department of Labor received a total of 432,554 applications for the H-1B labor condition applications in 2013, with 60,051 in the first quarter, 189,505 in the second quarter, 93,015 in the third quarter, and 80,983 in the fourth quarter. DOL has issued 442,254 determinations in 2013 and with 397,217 certified, 12,165 denied, and 32,872 withdrawn. In the fourth quarter, there were 86,181 determinations issued with 3,156 denied, 72,934 certified and 10,091 withdrawn. According to DOL, 100% of the applications were “processed timely”.

The top 10 occupations for certified H-1B labor condition applications for 2013 include: Computer Systems Analysts (26%), Computer Programmers (16%), Computer Occupations (All Other) (12%), Software Developers (Application)(8%), Computer and Information Systems Managers (5%), Software Developers (Systems Software) (2%), Accountants and Auditors (2%), Network and Computer Systems Administrators (2%), Management Analysts (2%), and Financial Analysts (2%).

The top ten states with the highest certified H-1b labor condition applications in 2013 include: California (18%), New York (8%), Texas (8%), New Jersey (6%), Illinois (6%), Pennsylvania (4%), Ohio (4%), Massachusetts (3%), Washington (3%), and Florida (3%). The remaining 40 states make up 37%.

The Department of Labor Office of Foreign Labor Certification also released the Top 10 Employers of certified H-1B labor condition applications in 2013 including: 1) Wipro Limited (102,218), 2) iGate Technologies Inc. (57,735), 3) Syntel Consulting Inc. (44,280), 4) Syntel Inc. (41, 096), 5) Infosys Limited (39,944), 6) Cognizant Technology Solutions U.S. Corporation (33,065), 7) Price Waterhouse Coopers LLP (29,084), 8) Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (21,220), 9) Deloitte Consulting LLP (19,146), 10) Mphasis Corporation (18,282).
