The Department of Labor Office of Foreign Labor Certification recently released new statistics regarding the H-1B Specialty Labor Condition Program for the third quarter of Fiscal Year 2013.

According to the data released, DOL has received 342,571 H-1B labor condition applications this year, with 60,051 in the first quarter, 189,505 in the second quarter, and 93,015 in the third quarter. This year, DOL has issued determinations for 358,966 applications in total. So far, 323,704 applications have been certified, 9,012 have been denied, and 26,250 have been withdrawn. Of the 110,121 total determinations made in the third quarter, 94,179 applications were certified, 3,017 applications were denied, and 12,925 were withdrawn. According to the DOL statistics, 100% of applications were considered “processed timely.”

The Top 10 Occupations for the certified H-1B labor condition applications included: Computer Systems Analysts (29.2%); Computer Programmers (15.5%); Computer Occupations (all Other) (9.3%); Software Developers (Applications) (8.3%); Computer & Information Systems managers (6.4%); Software Developers (System Software) (2.7%); Accountants & Auditors (2.4%); Management Analysts (2.2%); Network  & Computer Systems Administrators (1.7%); Financial Analysts (1.6%).

 The Top 10 States listed on certified H-1B labor condition applications included: California (17.6%); New York (8.3%); Texas (8.1%); New Jersey (6.9%); Illinois (5.8%); Pennsylvania (4.6%); Ohio (3.8%); Florida (3.49%); Washington (3.46%); Massachusetts (3.4%).

The DOL Office of Foreign Labor Certification also released information regarding the Top 10 Employers of the certified H-1B labor condition applications, including: 1) iGate Technologies, Inc.; 2) Syntel Consulting, Inc.; 3) Syntel, Inc.; 4) Wipro Limited; 5) Cognizant Technology Solutions U.S. Corporation; 6) Infosys Limited; 7) Price Waterhouse Coopers, LLP; 8) Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.; 9) Deloitte Consulting, LLP; 10) Mphasis Corporation.
