H-1B Count for FY 2012: 1700 More Applications Filed Last Week
USCIS released the latest H-1B visa information on May 23, 2011. As of May 20, 2011, USCIS reported that 12,300 cap petitions had been filed and 8,500 spots for U.S. advanced degree holders have been filled.
On May 13, 2011, USCIS reported that 11,200 cap petitions had been filed and 7,900 spots for U.S. advanced degree holders have been filled. In Summary, from May 13 to May 20, about 1,100 cap petitions and 600 petitions for U.S. advanced degree holders have been filed. As many spots are still not filled, we predict that H-1B availability will least likely cease sometime in next several months at the current pace.
However, please remember, those who receive a job offer from a governmental or non-profit organization will not count towards the general H-1B cap mentioned above.
